You are already using DX, did you know?
Hello, I'm Yuichi Koshiba, Learning & Development Manager of DHL Supply Chain Japan. Last time, I wrote a blog saying that everyone has to prepare and be ready for DX.
This time, I want to tell you the difficulty of DX might be less than you are currently thinking.
Why did DX became a buzzword?
Imagine how long have you been using PC or internet. Most of you might answer it as more than 10 years. Then, why now DX? Let's find out 3 big reasons.
The 1st is extreme improvement of network speed. A few years ago, we were always saying the wired network is only the choice. But now, wireless became faster and 5G technologies has born, and we became used to wireless environment. Being free from spaghettis cable is big advantage for DX.
The 2nd is the Big data. This is also the recent buzzword. A few years ago, you were storing every data into your PC. Your working e-mail had been always downloaded to your PC and deleted from mail server, which is called POP. Whenever you refer to e-mail, the only way is to power on your PC. How is your recent days? You can see Gmail from both PC and smartphone. This is available because your e-mail data is kept beyond the network. Saying with another buzzword, your data is stored in cloud.
Not only e-mails, it is normal nowadays to refer data on a cloud. This enables to store tons of data of many users there, and this formulates the big data. DX core is how to use the data, and this environment pushed the boom of it.
Now the 3rd. this is today's key point, that everyone can be an engineer of DX.
DX is not a coding... and you are already a good user.
How to make DX? Do you think that you have to stare a black screen and type some difficult codes? Well, that's too much. To say more, you are already a good DX user without the coding.
You are going to host some party. How do you decide when to do? Do you give everyone a phone call? Do you use some tools on the internet, or use some some function of SNS? If yes, congratulations! You are already a good DX user.
Ok, relating to your business. Suppose that you have to take some survey. Do you distribute some questionnaire paper to everyone? No? You use Google Forms or Microsoft Forms? Wow, you are doing excellent DX.
With a power of digital, "creating new values" and "reducing cost" are DX. You are already successfully reducing costs using a variety of services. A couple of years ago, if you want to do in a same way, you had to stare a black screen and spend plenty of times for the development. Currently, everyone can be an engineer of DX.
To know what can do is the key
These days, using variety of services, you can do many things with digital power without coding knowledge. Maybe there are many possibilities that you can use and make more efficient, but you only don't know. The key is to be curious, and to know what you can do continuously. I will also try to introduce useful information here.
